Terms of Use

Last updated: June 2026

Draft. These are generic starting terms. Please have a solicitor review them before relying on them.

1. Acceptance

By using Called Abroad you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or harmful vacancy information.
  • Use the site to send spam or harvest contact details.
  • Attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the site.
  • Post vacancies that discriminate unlawfully under the law that applies to where the role is based.

3. Vacancy listings

Churches and organisations that submit vacancies are responsible for the accuracy of their listing, including the role description, contact details, and any salary information. Called Abroad reviews submissions for plausibility but does not verify the underlying claims.

We reserve the right to edit, refuse, or remove any listing at our discretion — for example if it appears to be fraudulent, out of date, or outside the scope of this job board.

4. Applications

Applications happen directly between you and the listing church or organisation. Called Abroad is not a recruitment agency and is not party to any employment or volunteer arrangement that may result from a listing.

5. Accounts

You're responsible for keeping your account password secure and for activity that happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time from Account Settings.

6. No warranty

Called Abroad is provided "as is". We don't guarantee that the site will be available without interruption, that listings are accurate, or that you'll find or fill a role through us. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties.

7. Liability

We don't limit liability for things the law says we can't (such as death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud). Otherwise, our total liability to you in connection with the site is limited to the amount you have paid us in the previous twelve months — which is currently zero, as the site is free to use.

8. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes — except that nothing here stops you from raising a complaint with a regulator in your own country.
