Beyond the role

Life in Phuket

Phuket is one of Southeast Asia's most liveable island cities — a place where turquoise coastline, a warm tropical climate, and a well-established expat community converge. English is widely spoken, international schools and hospitals are readily accessible, and the cost of living remains significantly lower than most Western cities, stretching a support-raised income further than you might expect. The island's large community of long-term foreigners means ministry in a second language isn't a barrier: relationships form quickly, and the congregation at ANCP reflects that international texture. Seasons here are defined not by cold but by the rhythm of monsoon rains (May–October) and the brilliant dry season that follows — a backdrop that, for many who've served here, ends up feeling less like a hardship posting and more like home.
